Service Description

Orthopedic surgeons correct skeletal deformities and injuries. Orthopedic massage therapists use alignment and release techniques to help clients recover from injuries and surgery. With modern medical techniques and an evidence-based approach to massage we can help you resolve your symptoms without exacerbating your existing conditions. Please ensure orthopedic massage is right for you, talk with your doctor first, especially if you’re pregnant or have deep-vein thrombosis (blood clots) Orthopedic massage benefits are effective for certain physical injuries, including: Joint pain Tendonitis Back spasms Carpal tunnel syndrome Frozen shoulder Knee pain Plantar fasciitis Tennis and golfers’ elbows Whiplash injuries What to Expect from an Orthopedic Massage Session We will begin by talking about your medical history and then create and maintain a treatment plan. Your session will probably last an hour or more. We will use a variety of soft-tissue techniques to loosen your muscles and tendons: Active engagement – to reach deep, hard-to-access muscles, treat overuse injuries, and assist with well-developed musculature. Muscle energy technique (MET) – resistance while you voluntarily contract certain muscles. Myofascial release – gentle pressure to facilitate fascia. Nerve mobilization techniques – Also called neural mobilization and neurodynamics, this method can improve nervous system function by identifying a strained nerve and locating its source of pain. Positional release – This gentle treatment is used on inflamed and painful tissues that are too sensitive for other methods. PNF stretching-can increase your passive and active range of motion Trigger point therapy – releases lactic acid and increases circulation. Stretches or other self-care exercises can be used to extend the benefits of your therapy after the session. As with any other type of massage, be sure to rehydrate afterward, as your body will likely need to flush toxins from your system.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In our desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies: • 48 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 48 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment. • No-shows: Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged $45 for their “missed” appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made. • Arriving late Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SERVING YOU.
