Service Description

If you like your treatments to be hands-on and powerful, you’ll love deep tissue massage. Aimed at releasing deeply held tensions, it focuses on breaking down painful, rigid areas – known as adhesions – in the lower layers of muscle and connective tissue. It may therefore be especially beneficial if you’re suffering from chronic pain or sports injuries. Deep tissue massage uses some of the same strokes as classic massage, but the movement is slower, while the pressure is firmer and more concentrated on the problem areas. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? Deep tissue massages have benefits for both your physical and mental health. STRESS RELIEF -Deep tissue massage is a great way to unplug and relax for an extended period of time. -Lower cortisol levels and increase levels of oxytocin, which is a hormone that relaxes the body and produces soothing effects. REDUCES PAIN -Effective for relieving chronic pain in the lower back, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and stiff necks. LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART RATE -Positive impact on systolic, diastolic, and arterial blood pressure -Increase production of serotonin, which promotes good feelings and happiness. BREAKS UP SCAR TISSUE & MAKES MOVEMENT EASIER Normally, collagen is aligned in specific ways that promote strength in the tissues. However, the body does not know how to arrange collagen cells after an injury, causing them to clump together, fibers lose their natural structure, and cause scar tissue. The good news is that this newly developed scar tissue is not inherently permanent and can be remodeled to look like normal, healthy tissue once more. Performing the same motions repeatedly can take a terrible toll on the body. Over time, minute injuries may appear within the muscles, joints and tendons -- injuries that could one day become severe enough to force you to take time off. Improve your body's recovery rate with a massage!

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In our desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies: • 48 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 48 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment. • No-shows: Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged $45 for their “missed” appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made. • Arriving late Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SERVING YOU.
